Bridal Shower Trend Setters

Celebrities are always setting trends and although Bridal Showers held by Hollywood's elite tend to be secretive they do provide a good source of inspiration when you are thinking about planning your own special event.   Following Bridal Fashion Shows is another excellent tip as top designers showcase many ideas that will become future trends.  Bridal Shower Ireland monitor the very latest to help you celebrate in style!

Kim Kardashian's Bridal Shower in 2011 was held by her Mother at the family's Calabasas estate.  The black-and-white themed Bridal Shower mirrored their Wedding theme of 'Old Hollwood' and guests were asked to wear only black and white outfits.  Was this the start of a trend?  Definitely!  Black-and-white wedding gowns have made a dramatic entrance onto the catwalks for the Spring 2014 Bridal Shows.   What's more black-and-white damask with its elegant patterning has become a big hit in Bridal Shower décor.  Black-and-white is also a return to the sophistication and romance of Coco Chanel and French haute couture.  The Parisian Bridal Shower theme is very much in vogue at the moment.

Bridal Fashion Week highlighted another stunning trend – beautiful wedding gowns created from the palest ice blue (a nice nod to the 'something blue' that Brides wear for luck).  'Something Old, Something Blue' is an up-and-coming Bridal Shower theme!

One of the most popular Bridal shower themes at the moment is 'vintage' with all its faded old world elegance.  Bridal Shows in New York echoed this with gorgeous soft blush-coloured and delicate mint-green wedding gowns.  Lace, feathers, pattern embossed silk, embroidered chiffon overlays and beading also featured heavily.  These pale colours are proving to be a fashionable choice for Bridal Shower guests and Brides-to-be as well.  This year Fergie (vocalist for The Black Eyed Peas) wore a  mint-green flapper dress with an ostrich feather stole and matching heels to her sister's Bridal Shower.  Kristin Cavallari (actress in The Hills, CSI) wore silk mint-green patterned with pale blush at her own tea-party themed Bridal Shower at The London Hotel, West Hollywood.

Glitz and Glamour have been part of the Bridal Shower scene from the beginning but what can we expect of Bridal shower fashion in the future?  Diamonds were a girl's best friend but shimmering metallics are set to be all the rage.  Iridescent fabrics, silk-lamé, rippling satins and shining taffeta have proved to be show stoppers at Bridal fashion events.  Gold, silver and copper metallics have taken on another dimension of tones but sheer opulence is back with a fabulous metallic rainbow of rich, deep colour sheens.   This is certainly one trend that will take 'Sparkle and Shine' Bridal Showers into another league entirely!
